Deep Purple Child In Time Solo (Normal Speed & Slow Speed)

This classic (and very challenging) solo is from Deep Purple’s In Rock album. It’s an album full of amazing solos and this solo is the pièce de résistance for sure. I haven’t bothered to learn it, as to learn this would take up all my time for several weeks, so because I want to release videos on a weekly basis, I decided to release this one with just the tab and fretboard view. Hope this is useful, enjoy!

As always, below the YouTube video you’ll find the backing track to play along with, and below that, the tablature. Aren’t I nice?!

Thanks for this and the backing tracks. Need to find a program that can slow down the speed like the second part of the video. Found you from you tube. Excellent study tools!!!

Actually, YouTube has a built-in feature where you can slow any video/audio down to 25% of its original speed, and it’s easy to do. At the bottom right of the video, underneath the progress bar, you should see a cog (or gear), click that and then go to ‘Playback speed’. There it is!

brilliant —studied this solo since 1975 — its exactly as you have tabbed ——carl winter—-difficult yes but great to analyse —I wanted the final flurry of notes —-yet I play it slightly different 0—for speed –
(sounds like the TEDDY BEARS PICNIC — last 4 bars !)–thankyou !
